Willowglen Academy – New Jersey Group Homes licensed under Division Of Developmental Disabilities are comprehensive, interdisciplinary, person centered and is integrated with multiple services, which are designed to diminish and alleviate maladaptive behaviors and to maximize adaptive functioning. They will develop independent living skills which commensurate with the respective capabilities of the residents and will develop coping skills which will maximize their abilities to deal with the stresses in everyday life in a normalized fashion.


These programs are designed to provide services to those individuals whose level of functioning requires programming that is both intense and long term in nature. Cognitive behavioral and neurobehavioral related issues permeate the clinical profiles of most involved in this program. Primary to the entire program is the focus placed on developing safe and therapeutic environments, which recognizes the neuro/cognitive behavioral challenges of the consumers while providing opportunities for growth, learning, and communication.


Therefore, the basic, primary goal is the implementation of a highly structured, community based group home for the consumers having varied needs and abilities. The needs and abilities will be served through cognitive behavioral principles with an overriding philosophy and practice of enhancing the dignity, self-determination, and normalization.
