Michelle Young

I received a Master's Degree in Health Psychology and Counseling from National Louis University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Rockford University (College). I have worked with chronically mentally ill and intellectually disabled individuals for almost 17 years in both clinical and leadership roles. I began my Career with Phoenix Care Systems as a Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional for Willowglen Academy- IL in 2007. I have held multiple roles in the company, including State Clinical Director prior to my current role as the State Director. Prior to joining Phoenix Care Systems/ Willowglen Academy-IL, I worked as a Mental Health Professional serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses who required 24 hour supervision due to the severity of their Mental Illness.

NEW JERSEY

Krystal Moir

Krystal has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, specializing in Practice with Children and Families.  Krystal has worked in the social services field for 13 years, beginning her career as a mental health technician and group home counselor.  Krystal is licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a certification in clinical supervision.  Krystal is certified to train on the Nurtured Heart Approach and has experience utilizing Adaptive Behavior Analysis to effectively serve individuals in her care.  Krystal has found her niche in her role as Clinical Director and looks forward to continuing to serve in this capacity to enhance the lives of those around her.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Teresa Vassar

Willowglen Academy of South Carolina Executive Director Teresa Lancaster-Vassar received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and a Master's of Education with an Emotional and Behavioral Disorder concentration. Teresa is a credentialed Certified Public Manager in the State of South Carolina and began her career serving as a Child Welfare Therapist with the Department of Mental Health. Following this, Teresa moved into a Program Director position with the Intensive Foster Care and Clinical Services Coastal Region of SC DSS. Teresa has continually provided an increased quality of care to consumers and has worked on their behalf for over 20 years.


Teresa joined Willowglen Academy of South Carolina in 2011 where she directed the opening of a new state-of-the-art PRTF facility specializing in services to children and adolescents with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Teresa and her team reorganized WGA SC’s Residential and Community based services including the creation, design, and implementation of IMPACT (Individualized Medical Psychological/Psychiatric Assessment Comprehensive Treatment) and Group Care Intensive Services. Teresa is committed to assuring quality services for the children entrusted to the care of WGA SC, she is often seen walking the halls while connecting with the consumers.
